ProgramsGordon Parks Young Photographers Competition Takes Off; New Deadline Date for Entries AnnouncedDallas- As the Gordon Parks Young Photographers Competition gains momentum with entries received each day toward the announcement day of the winners for first place prize of $300, second place prize of $200 and third place prize of $100, the deadline date for entries has been extended to Thursday August 5, 2010. “The original deadline date was on a weekend and because the announcement date was nearly two weeks after that, we felt that four or five more days would be a better postmarked time than what we planned,” stated Elaine Thornton, one of the presenters for the event. The contest is an amateur only event open to youngsters ages 10 through 18. Announcements will take place at the Horchow Auditorium in the Dallas Museum of Art on Saturday August 14th at half past noon.
